With more time spent being at home, we now have more time for hobbies we’ve put on the back burner. What are some activities you’re passionate about doing or have always wanted to try? Hobbies can help stimulate our minds, create more space for joy, and challenge our creativity.
Here are fun activities you can try at home:
Coloring books, drawing, painting – I have tons of coloring books with intricate designs and details. It’s soothing to sit and color.
Cooking – I have been cooking so much now that I’m at home! I also occasionally get HelloFresh to change things up, and it’s fun trying out new recipes I would have never tried before.
Playing an instrument – I have a keyboard and playing it has brought so many memories of me practicing as a kid!
Singing – You don’t have to be good at singing to do it! It’s just fun singing in your house and having a good time doing whatever you’re doing.
Caring for plants/gardening – I’m officially a plant mom now, and it’s nice taking care and showing compassion towards something.
Journaling – There’s something about putting your thoughts onto paper. It’s cathartic and helps me process what I’m feeling and thinking.
Puzzles – I have yet to do a puzzle, but there are apps for puzzles too in case you don’t want a physical puzzle.
Reading – I’ve finally had more time to read and learn!
Learning a new language or fine tuning a language – I’ve been using DuoLingo to practice my Vietnamese.
Meditating – I meditate to start and end my day. It’s a great way to set up your day or unwind before bed! It’s also nice to take time and be in the present moment.
Scrapbooking – Personally I’ve never really done this, but this looks fun to make and captures moments in time.
Knitting – I actually haven’t knit either, but now that it’s getting colder, knitting may be the move!
Are there any activities on here you haven’t tried yet? Give one of these a try and let me know how they go!
