How To Start Your Fitness Journey

New to fitness? Returning to fitness? Not sure where to start?

Here are some tips on how to start or get back into working out!

  1. Hire a coach or trainer – It can be in person or online but having an expert teaching you, guiding you, and holding you accountable is extremely helpful! It can be just for a couple sessions to get you jump started or you can do it more consistently!

  2. Attend a group fitness class – You’ll get guidance from an instructor and be motivated by all the other students taking the class. It can be really fun, especially with the upbeat music and great energy of the instructor.
  3. Have a workout partner or group – Having support is so important! It motivates you to go to the gym, take a class, and make sure you don’t skip your workouts because you have someone who is going with you! Also having like minded people can keep things fun in your fitness journey!
  4. Workout videos – There are tons of YouTube videos and apps with workout videos. These can be nice for guidance, and they allow you to work out from the comfort of your own home or when you get alone time in the fitness studio.   5. Start small – If you’re just getting into working out, then I recommend starting small. Instead of going from no days of working out to all of a sudden 6 days, try 1 – 2 days a week. Instead of hour long sessions, start with 20-30 minutes. You can start small and then gradually build upon it! Enjoy and trust the process. Sometimes it might feel small or slow, but any progress is still progress!
