The most important relationship you will ever have is the one with yourself. How do you take care of yourself? In this post, I share my favorite self – care activities!
- Bath bombs/Epsom salt bath – Water is cleansing and can help you feel more grounded. An Epsom salt bath can also help with soreness. I love using bath bombs or bag of Epsom salts. In addition, choosing scents such as lavender can be very calming.
- Face mask – With the changes in temperature and weather, sometimes our skin may need some extra TLC. I have different masks for different purposes such as drawing out impurities or replenishing moisture. All in all, it feels nice to take care of your skin.
- Burning incense or using a diffuser with essential oils – I personally feel that scents can affect your mood. Some essential oils I have are specifically mixed for certain moods such as happiness or relaxation. As for incense, I love seeing the smoke rise as the incense burns. I visually meditate and imagine my dreams, intentions, and prayers are floating up to heaven with the smoke.
- Journaling – There’s something about writing your thoughts and feelings down. I think it’s important to truly know yourself and self-reflect. Sometimes when you’re having a hard time too, it’s a sense of relief to let it all out and write it down.
- Listen to music (& maybe have a dance party while you’re at it) – Even if you’re not dancing, playing your favorite songs or listening to music based on your mood, feels so nice.
- Manicure/Pedicure – This is one of my favorite things to do! Whether you paint your nails or not, it’s nice to show your hands and feet a little extra attention. I like switching up my nail colors depending on the season or if I have a special occasion and want to match from head to toe.
- Meditate – Sometimes life gets so busy we forget to take time for ourselves. Taking a few minutes of quiet time to focus on you and your breathing is a great way to reset.
- Get Moving – Even if it’s a short walk, stretch, or a full workout. What a better way to take care and show yourself love than by moving around!
- Reach out to loved ones – When I’m not feeling so great, I reach out to my support system of awesome family and friends to lift me up! I can always count on them for cheering me up or making me laugh when I’m down.
- Check in with yourself – How many times a day do you check in and ask how you’re doing? We probably ask so many others how they’re doing, but we never ask ourselves. Sometimes it’s as simple as that.
