Fiber is so important for our digestive health and regularity. The recommended amount of daily fiber is 25 – 30 g of fiber from food. I understand how challenging it can be to get enough fiber, but no worries. Here’s a list of how to get more fiber in your diet!
- Leafy greens – It can be a salad, sautéed, or in a smoothie
- Throwing spinach in soup is a great way to sneak it in too!
- Fruits and vegetables
- I love roasting green beans and broccoli! I also enjoy fruits as an on-the-go snack!
- Avocados are also rich in fiber!
- Whole grains
- Some oatmeal and breads have a lot of fiber! Be sure to look at the nutrition info on the package.
- Nuts and seeds
- These make a great snack too.
- Powdered greens/supplements
- I always try to get as much fiber from food as possible, but if you can’t do that I recommend a powered greens like Bloom or a fiber supplement such as Metamucil!
