Each season brings different activities. Winter has snow so there’s skiing and snowboarding while summer has sunshine and warmth so it’s perfect for water sports and hiking. Here are some fun activities to do this summer!
- Swim – You can swim in a pool, lake, or the ocean. Swimming is great cardio and a fun way to cool off.
- Water activities – Kayaking, surfing, paddleboarding, snorkeling, and tubing are just some of the exciting ways to spend time in the water!
- Walk – Walking is my go to cardio activity. It’s easy and doesn’t require too much other than comfortable workout clothes and shoes. I also enjoy walking on the beach! It’s fun to change up the scenery and also challenge yourself walking on different terrain.
- Run – If you enjoy running or want to get into running, this is great season to start! Ideally run early in the morning or later in the evening to avoid excessive heat.
- Hike – With longer days, we can hike and watch the sun rise or the sun set. Just be sure to bring water and sunscreen!
- Bike – Biking along bike paths or around your neighborhood is a fun way to change up your cardio, explore new places, and check out scenery.
- Gardening – This time is great for planting or trimming your bushes and trees. You get to spend time outdoors and move your body while tending to your plants!
- Outdoor sports – Beach volleyball, tennis, golf, and frisbee are just some of the activities you can be do while enjoying the sun and warmth summer has to offer.
- Dance – Dance in your backyard or the beach! Dancing is a fun way to get movement in.
- Outdoor class – From yoga to HIIT, some classes take their workouts outdoors, which is an amazing way to get fresh air and work up a sweat!
