Sweet Treats To Beat The Heat

I don’t know about you, but it’s been really warm and sunny in LA! Sometimes it gets too hot, and I don’t feel like eating hot food. Here are some of my go to treats to fuel my body and keep me cool!

  1. Cottage cheese or Greek yogurt, fruits, and honey
    • This has to be my favorite healthy dessert! I love yogurt with blueberries and honey!
  2. Fruits – frozen or chilled
    • Fruits are another favorite of mine! I love seasonal fruits like cherries, mangoes, and watermelons!
  3. Salad
    • I love getting salad mixes from Trader Joe’s. They’re simple and delicious! Just mix all the ingredients together, and you’re ready to go!
    • You’re also more than welcome to make your own salad. I love chopped tomatoes, dark leafy greens, red onions, feta cheese, and a nice vinaigrette!
  4. Homemade ice cream
    • My boyfriend and I love using our Ninja Creami to make healthier homemade ice cream! We blend up protein powder, pudding mix, fruit, and milk. Freeze it, and then blend it all up with the Ninja Creami!
    • If you don’t have a Ninja Creami, it’s okay! Blend everything in a blender and freeze it over night!
  5. Smoothies
    • Smoothies are another amazing cool treat! I blend frozen fruit, spinach, and Greek yogurt! You can get really creative with the ingredients you use.
  6. Celery, carrots, broccoli, pita chips, and dip
    • Lately I’ve been eating a lot of hummus with chips! I’ll also add some carrot sticks so I have extra vitamins and minerals. It’s an easy snack that requires no prep!
    • You can also get low fat dip or make your own guacamole or salsa.
  7. Flavored sparkling water or add a splash of juice in water
    • I love flavored water! It doesn’t have to be too complicated. Even a splash of your favorite juice in some ice water is so refreshing on a hot summer day!
