February is National Heart Month! Cardio, is a great way to keep your heart (and lungs) healthy and strong. If I’m being honest here, cardio isn’t my favorite activity, but it’s beneficial for our heart so I always make sure to get cardio in!
There are many forms of cardio. It doesn’t have to be long or intense for it to be effective. It can be any activity that gets your heart rate up! Here are some fun cardio ideas:
- Walking
- Swimming
- Hiking
- Biking (indoor or outdoor)
- Dancing
- Elliptical
- Stair master
- Circuit style workouts
- Short cardio burst mixed with your strength workout
I sneak cardio in by getting as many steps as I can so I’ll park farther away, walk our dog Boba more often, or warm up with a quick cardio session before I lift. Your cardio session doesn’t have to be complicated or long for your to reap the benefits! Even 10–20 minutes is beneficial. The best cardio is the kind you’ll actually do consistently! Your heart will thank you ❤️
What’s your favorite cardio activity? Message me! I’d love to hear from you. I’d have to say my favorite cardio activity is walking. It’s simple and easy, and it allows me to go outside and get fresh air!
