Maybe you’re thinking about having some workout equipment at home or want a home gym in case you can’t make it to the gym. Here are some of my staple pieces of workout equipment and tips on how to create your home gym without breaking the bank!
- Staple items: Dumbbells, bands with/without handles, hip circles, and a mat
- Dumbbells and bands are nice for additional resistance that don’t require too much space or money.
- Bands and hip circles you can easily find at a sporting goods store or Amazon. I personally like the bands with handles since it comes in a set where you can easily adjust the weights and tailor the exercise specifically for upper or lower body.
- A mat is a necessity for exercises that require you to be on the floor.
- For dumbbells, kettlebells, or weights in general, I recommend looking on Facebook Marketplace, OfferUp, or even Craigslist; you’ll be surprised by how many people are selling their equipment for a reasonable price!
- I’ve gotten many of my weights from other people selling them online, and they were cheaper than if I bought them from the store!
- If you’re looking for cardio equipment, you can find them on those platforms as well!
Your home gym doesn’t need expensive or fancy equipment to be effective! It just takes a couple staple items, and you can always add more equipment down the road! 🙂
