Fall Into Fitness

Fall is in full swing! I’m enjoying the cooler weather, and that cozy warm feeling that fall always brings. This is the perfect time to take advantage of the cooler weather and participate in outdoor activities. Here are some seasonal activities you can do on your own or with loved ones!

  • Take a trip to a pumpkin patch – Walk around and explore a pumpkin patch! Full immerse yourself in the season! Bonus point if you pick a pumpkin and have to carry it.
  • Corn maze – Walking around a corn maze is a great way to get steps in!
  • Raking leaves – Another amazing way to get steps and keep your yard clean.
  • Apple picking – This involves walking and picking and carrying apples. Plus you’ll have fruit to bring home!
  • Gardening – Why not do some gardening outside? Get moving while planting!
  • Walking/Hiking/Running – I love walking when it’s cooler outside. I don’t have to worry about getting too hot. Be sure to still apply sunscreen, wear protective clothing, and bring water.
  • Biking – Change up your usual cardio with a bike ride instead!
  • Nature scavenger hunt – Host a scavenger hunt with your kids and loved ones. It’s a fun way to get everyone moving and looking at what nature has to offer this season!
  • Trick or treating – Yes there may be candy involved, but you’ll still get your steps in!

You can even take your weights outside for a workout or even do a yoga session in your yard or at the park. These are just some of the activities you can do outdoors this fall! There’s always an opportunity for movement in every day and in every season!
