How To Make Most Of Your Workout

When it comes to working out, we all want our workouts to be effective and efficient. Here are some tips to make the most out of your workout:

  • Remove any distractions – Stop texting and scrolling through social media; I’m guilty of this too and doing this only takes away time from you and your workout. 
  • Schedule your workout – By scheduling in your workout, you’re more likely to actually do it.
  • Put a timer – Sometimes I get carried away, and my workouts can go over an hour and then bleed into another activity. Honor the allotted time you have, and if you happen to have extra time then go ahead!
  • Fuel yourself before and after a workout – Depending on your fitness goals and eating habits, I generally recommend having a preworkout and post workout meal. Your body needs energy for the workout and then after to rebuild muscle and recover. 
  • Drink plenty of water – Staying hydrated is key to getting through your workout, reaching your goals, and staying healthy. 
  • Get enough sleep – Personally I still need to work on this, but allowing yourself 7 – 8 hours of sleep a night will help you recover and have enough energy for the day, work out, and be overall happy. 
  • Always do your best – Even if you’re having the worst day, always do your best! Some movement is better than none.
