Have A Merry Christmas!

Whether you’re spending time with loved ones or getting some much deserved “me” time, I wish you a very Merry Christmas!

Here are some tips to stay merry all day long:

  1. Get outside – Now that we’re officially in winter, it’s so important for our mental and physical health to get fresh air and vitamin D. It also helps with your circadian rhythm. I recommend getting sunshine first thing in the morning.
  2. Get some movement in – Get a walk, work out, or stretch in! This will get your heart pumping, blood flowing, and mood improving!
  3. Eat throughout the day – Being hungry can make you angry or “hangry.” To avoid feeling cranky or even sluggish, be sure to eat balanced meals throughout the day. Everyone’s different, but I typically eat every 2-4 hours. It prevents me from getting cranky and tired.
  4. Stay hydrated – Drink plenty of water! I like drinking a glass of water when I wake up and right after my meal to help with hydration and digestion. If you’re drinking alcohol this holiday season, remember to drink even more water than you usually would! As an extra, you can add electrolytes to help with hydration as well.
  5. Take a break – As joyous as the holidays are, sometimes they can be sad or stressful. It’s okay to feel this way. Take some time to rest or give yourself some space.
