New Year Goal Setting – How To Start

Hello 2026! I still can’t believe we’re a week into the new year. I love using the excitement and energy around this time to set new goals for myself. Sometimes it can be daunting to set goals, but not to worry! Here are some steps to help you set some new goals this year!

  1. Reflect
    • What worked in 2025? What didn’t?
    • Do more of what worked for you!
    • If something didn’t turn out as planned, how can you create a plan to achieve this goal? (Remember to make them SMART!)
  2. Be honest
    • Be honest about how you spend your time and energy and how your current habits are. Are you wasting time scrolling on your phone when you can be getting a quick workout in?
    • Where are your time and energy being spent on?
    • What are your current habits? (Good and bad)
    • How can you incorporate more good habits and decrease (or even eliminate) bad ones?
  3. Make a plan
    • A plan beats guessing or “winging it.”
    • A plan gives you structure and routine.
    • It helps you stay on track towards your goals!
    • “Fail to plan. Plan to fail.”
