Reset Your Fitness Routine This Season!

March is flying by! We’re wrapping up Q1, and spring has officially sprung! I enjoy this month because it feels like a fresh start. Let’s use this energy to freshen up and reset our routines. Here are some ways to refresh habits without the overwhelm:

  1. Assess/reassess what worked and what didn’t: It’s been 3 months into the year which is a great time to check in with what’s worked for you and what hasn’t been working for you. Maybe the habits you set in January are solid or maybe some need a few tweaks.
    • Whatever’s working for you, keep doing it! As for the habits that need improvement, try making it simpler or change it to another habit that you’re 100% sure you can accomplish!
  2. Swap one winter habit for a spring one: If you’ve been walking on the treadmill indoors, try taking it outside! You can even take your strength workouts outside too. Bring your workout equipment and exercise in the yard or do a bodyweight circuit at a local park!
  3. Set 1-2 intentions for April: The end of the month is also a great time to set intentions for the next month! After assessing what worked for you and what didn’t, set 1-2 intentions for April. They can be as simple as drinking an extra glass of water every day so you can work on your overall health, or it can be tracking your workouts so you stay consistent! The trick is to make it simple and clear. One of my intentions for April is to continue working out 3x a week and tracking my progress so I know how strong I’m getting!
  4. Spring clean your workout space, gym bag, and athletic wear: Spring time means spring cleaning! If you work out at home, you can “spring clean” your workout space. If you bring a bag to the gym, take some time to clean it out as well as clean your gym shoes. Maybe there are some workout clothes you don’t really wear anymore. Give them away to a friend or donate them!
  5. Freshen up your workout routine: Maybe you’ve been doing the same workout for the past 3 months. Now is as good a time as any to change up your routine. You can change the exercises, exercise order, sets, reps, and timing. If you want to spice up your routine, let’s schedule a call! I’d be happy to help.

With spring time comes new energy and a fresh start if you will. Let’s use this to restart and become reinvigorated to take care of ourselves and our bodies!
