Staying Motivated As The Days Get Shorter

As much as I like having the sun rise a little earlier, it now means the sun sets an hour earlier, and that can make it tougher to stay active. In addition to shorter days, it’s also getting colder which can affect our motivation too.

Here are a few tips to stay consistent and energized this season:

  1. Move earlier in the day – Even 10-20 minutes of walking, stretching, or light movement adds up! I love getting my workouts in early because it sets the tone for the rest of the day.
  2. Get sunshine first thing in the morning – Starting your day with natural light helps regulate your circadian rhythm and gives your body a natural energy boost!
  3. Stick to a routine – Scheduling your workouts just like any other appointment helps you stay committed. Treat your workouts like meetings with yourself!
  4. Track your workouts – Seeing your progress keeps you motivated and focused on your goals. Use a journal, notes app, or fitness tracker to log your wins!
  5. Have an accountability partner – Having a workout buddy or trainer (aka me!) can help you stay on track with your workouts!

I hope you enjoyed these tips. Don’t let the cooler darker days get in the way of you and your fitness goals! This is a time to embrace the change of seasons, stay consistent, and do our very best. Fitness is all year round!

As a trainer, I can help you stay motivated and on track as we head into the cooler and darker months! Whether you need accountability, a customized plan, or fresh workout ideas, I’ve got you covered. Contact me if you’re ready to level up your fitness routine!
