The Holidays Are Coming!

I can’t believe it’s October already! Where has this year gone?! We’re officially in the countdown to the holiday season! Here’s how close we are to the biggest celebrations of the year:

  • Halloween 🎃 – 29 days away
  • Thanksgiving 🦃 – 52 days away
  • Christmas 🎄 – 84 days away
  • New Year’s Eve 🎆 – 90 days away

I absolutely love the holidays! It’s a time to celebrate and spend it with our loved ones. I know many people worry about staying healthy and on track with their fitness goals during this time, but the truth is: one indulgent meal or dessert isn’t going to derail your progress. What matters most is balance and consistency over time!

We also have plenty of time to prepare ourselves for the holidays. Here are some tips stay balanced and enjoy this season!

  1. Eat balanced meals – You can still enjoy holiday meals, but make sure your plate includes protein, veggies, and whole foods. This will help you stay satisfied and prevent overeating.
  2. Stay Hydrated – Your thirst can be mistaken for hunger so be sure to drink plenty of fluids, especially when you’re drinking alcohol. My rule of thumb is to have a glass of water for each alcoholic beverage I drink.
  3. Don’t Skip Meals – Skipping a meal often backfires and can lead to overeating later. Fuel your body consistently throughout the day.
  4. Move Your Body – Talk a walk after your meal, dance with friends, or get a workout in before the holiday festivities. Exercising helps with digestion and your blood sugar. It’s also a fun activity you can do with your loved ones!
  5. Enjoy the Moment – The holidays only come once a year. Food is just a small part of it! Focus on the connections, conversations, and memories you’re making. Have fun!

One meal or party is not going to ruin your progress. The holidays are meant to be celebrated and enjoyed without any need for guilt! Staying balanced and consistent will keep you healthy and happy this holiday season!
